About the role

This position is located at the VA Medical Center in Louisville KY. The Supervisory Supply Management Specialist - Chief Supply Chain Officer is responsible for the development and integration of a supply chain that ensures the logistical requirement of the VA Health Care Systems and supported catchment areas are met.

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties and responsibilities include: Oversees, guides, manages and integrates supply chain operations across the organization; Plans and coordinates fiscal, acquisition, clinical and administrative operations; Establishes, monitors and manages the performance and measurement of logistics functions for all aspects of the supply chain; Conducts logistics audits, compliance reviews and program effectiveness/efficiency reviews; Manages all activities involved in the supply chain management to include sourcing, procurement and logistics management activities; Responsible for linking major business functions and processes within the organization into a cohesive and high performing business model; Forecast planning and budget execution for supplies, subsistence, durable medical equipment, medical gases, expendable/non-expendable and capital equipment, inventory management, warehouse operations, transportation and distribution; Leads and/or participates in regular meetings, ensuring logistics needs and requirements are being met; Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm. Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
