The Assistant Front Office Manager will have oversight of the front office staff, Overnight staff, cash control for agents, staffing needs, and guest services.  Additional responsibilities may include training, staff development and scheduling.

  • Supervise Guest Services, Front Office, Bell/Door, and Mail Desk staff.

  • Maintain cash controls for front office agents and assist with staffing schedules and payroll.

  • Greet and accompany VIPs, and ensure staff are aware of their preferences and requirements.

  • Oversee the lobby and uphold guest service standards from arrival through the guest’s journey to their room.

  • Manage lobby traffic and coordinate smooth guest arrivals and departures.

  • Supervise check-in and check-out and prioritize and resolve guest concerns with diplomacy and sound judgment.

  • Coordinate Front Office activities with Guest Relations and other departments.

  • Communicate important information and special requests between shifts.

  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Sales on daily room inventory needs.

  • Monitor room availability, special events, and general hotel information.

  • Develop and implement plans of action for daily operations; monitor operating procedures and ensure department standards are met.

  • Hire, train, develop, motivate, and monitor the performance of staff.

  • Identify training needs and develop appropriate materials.

  • Assist with Guest Relations activities.

  • Coordinate group arrivals and departures with Sales.

  • Maintain a warm, enthusiastic, and professional attitude in all circumstances.

  • Support the Front Office Manager in overseeing departmental operations, including payroll, scheduling, and other administrative responsibilities as needed

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 ESSENTIAL:

  • Minimum 1 year management experience in: Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations or a satisfactory combination of education and experience that provides for the skills necessary for this position.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • Proficiency with hotel property management systems.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Ability to perform other duties as requested by management.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree in Hotel Management.

  • Experience with Opera PMS.

  • Experience in a union environment.

  • Experience in a luxury hotel environment.

  • Ability to train staff and monitor performance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Light work: exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Annual Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
