About the role
The entry-level laborer has limited or no experience in commercial concrete construction yet brings an excellent attitude with a willingness to learn, work hard, and improve their skills. This role supports all functions of commercial concrete projects through housekeeping, toting materials, setting formwork, shoring, and placing concrete. Entry-level laborers are exposed to several main types of commercial concrete work, including sub-structures, elevated structures, parking ramps, and tilt, to name a few. These structures allow the entry-level laborer to understand footings, mass footings, walls, columns, shoring, decking, formwork systems, gang forms, reinforcing, and post-tension systems. Communicating effectively with supervisors, teammates, and other trades is expected as well as asking questions to increase growth and development.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely perform general labor tasks on concrete construction sites, including using power and common hand tools.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, high-visibility apparel, and additional protection as required by the task.
- Moving materials by hand, preparing for concrete placement, installation of shoring, and maintaining clean, well-organized job sites.
- Work in a variable environment, both indoors and outdoors. When required, work during inclement weather, including extreme heat/cold.
- Communicate effectively with your crew lead, foreman, and superintendent on safety, ask questions, and problem-solve.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
- Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving (for any driver)
- Ability to pass drug screening.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
