Join our Service Team as a Customer Support Engineer, where you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Malvern Panalytical's industry-leading analytical instrumentation. Supporting customers across Idaho and the Northwestern United States, you'll serve as a trusted technical partner, ensuring exceptional instrument performance and minimizing downtime.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge scientific instrumentation while building strong customer relationships and collaborating with technical experts across the organization. With significant autonomy and extensive travel throughout the territory, you'll play a critical role in delivering outstanding service and support.
What You Will Bring to the Role
- 3 to 5 years of experience in electronics, electro-mechanical systems, scientific instrumentation, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex instrumentation or technical equipment.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Proficiency with computer-based diagnostic tools and electronic service reporting systems.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory (approximately 80%).
Preferred Experience
- Laser-based analytical instrumentation experience.
- Particle characterization, spectroscopy, materials characterization, or related analytical technologies.
- Previous field service or customer-facing technical support experience.
- Laboratory, industrial, research, or manufacturing environment experience.
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems and regulated environments.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
