Maintenance Worker (Seasonal)

You will serve as a Maintenance Worker (Seasonal). The typical seasonal entry-on-duty is April-October but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Open to the first 150 applicants.

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds. Perform minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters. Construct, install, repair and replace such items as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets. Perform routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, to include cleaning restrooms, and making minor repairs as needed. Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites. May perform other duties such as painting equipment, masonry work, roofing, welding or assisting higher grade worker with maintenance of utility systems in the facility.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You may be required to complete training, obtain and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority. You must be 18 years of age or older to operate government vehicles or be assigned to a hazardous position. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. You may be required to travel overnight away from home. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
