Build your cardiac nursing career with Sentara! Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, is seeking Registered Nurses to join our Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).

Whether you’re an experienced RN or a new graduate, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills while caring for patients with complex cardiac needs.

Position Highlights

• Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates
• Experienced RN pay: $41.93–$61.01/hour, based on years of nursing experience
• New graduate RN starting pay: $36.00/hour for nurses with less than one year of experience
• Full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Day shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Night shifts: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• New graduate nurses welcome!

About the Cardiac IMCU

Our 24-bed unit provides high-acuity cardiac care in a supportive environment that values teamwork, collaboration, and compassionate patient care.

You’ll care for patients with:

• Cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation
• ST-elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMIs)
• Heart failure and chest pain
• Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) and permanent pacemakers

Expand your experience in atrial fibrillation medication management and advanced cardiac care while working with state-of-the-art technology on a fully telemetry-equipped unit.

Education

• Associate’s degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Virginia RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license eligibility required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within one year of hire

Experience

• No prior nursing experience required
• Previous healthcare experience preferred
• New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply

As a Registered Nurse, you’ll deliver compassionate, patient-centered care through assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. You’ll collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, monitor patients’ conditions, administer treatments, and educate patients and families throughout their care.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
