The organisation is recognised for its strong broker relationships, service‑led approach, and commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes. Due to continued expansion, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced underwriter to help drive new business growth across a broad commercial product range.Your new roleAs a Trading Underwriter, you will manage and underwrite new business within the company’s risk appetite, ensuring that all quotations are assessed accurately and efficiently. You will handle broker enquiries within agreed SLAs, providing a responsive, professional and friendly service at all times. Working closely with Business Development Managers, you will help maintain and strengthen broker relationships across the region. You will also act as a referral point for colleagues with lower underwriting authority and ensure that all decisions comply with underwriting guidelines and the company’s commitment to Treating Customers Fairly. You will contribute to improving work processes by taking initiative and supporting overall business objectives. You will collaborate effectively with your team to ensure workloads are completed within SLA requirements, and you will provide confident telephone support to brokers to maintain excellent customer service standards.What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you will bring at least two years of commercial underwriting experience, ideally within property or casualty lines. You will be self‑motivated, with strong influencing and relationship‑building abilities, supported by excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will have the organisational capability needed to follow company processes effectively and maintain high‑quality output. It is desirable that you hold Cert CII or ACII qualifications, although this is not essential. The ability to work well under pressure and to solve problems proactively will further support your success.
