Principal DM Planning Officer

Principal DM Planner (New Settlements Team) Cambridgeshire £55-60 per hour (DOE) Initial 3 Month Contract (Potential to Extend)   Job Ref - 68886   My Local Authority Client in the Cambridge area is looking to source an experienced Principal Planner with strong experience in strategic growth, major developments, and new settlement projects.   This is a high-profile opportunity supporting the delivery of major growth schemes, with the successful candidate playing a lead role in managing complex planning applications and supporting the delivery of strategic development sites.   The successful candidate will have experience dealing with major and complex development proposals, including EIA development, project managing applications, and working collaboratively with developers, housebuilders and a wide range of stakeholders.   Key experience required includes: ·Strong experience managing major planning applications and complex development proposals. ·Experience using Planning Performance Agreements (PPAs) as project management tools. ·Ability to manage a varied caseload relating to strategic growth sites. ·Strong communication skills, including presenting at committees and stakeholder forums. ·Commercial awareness and experience working with developers/housebuilders.   The role will involve working as part of a project team delivering projects, including supporting early engagement through the pre-application planning process.   Hybrid working is offered, with an expectation to attend offices approximately 1-2 days per week.   The role is expected to start mid to late September, with an initial 3-month contract and potential opportunity to extend.   Please call Alfie Jacobs on (phone number removed) for a confidential discussion on this role, or email me or our planning team if you are short of time to chat: Carrington West's dedicated Town Planning Recruitment Team supply clients UK wide on both a permanent and contract basis and all levels of seniority.
