Housing Standards Officer - Selective Licensing £40-£50 per hour Full-time Central London 6-month initial contract Park Avenue are working with a Central London Borough who are looking to appoint an experienced Housing Standards Officer to support their Selective Licensing team on an initial 6-month contract. The Council are looking for someone who is confident carrying out property inspections independently and can support the team with housing standards and licensing work from day one. The Role You'll be working across a varied Housing Standards caseload, including: Carrying out housing inspections across privately rented properties Completing HHSRS assessments and identifying Category 1 and Category 2 hazards Supporting the Council's Selective Licensing scheme Investigating housing condition complaints Assessing properties against relevant housing standards and licensing requirements Advising landlords and tenants on necessary remedial works Taking appropriate enforcement action where required Maintaining accurate case records and progressing cases through to resolutionTo be considered, you will need to be HHSRS qualified and have previous experience carrying out housing standards inspections within a Local Authority or similar regulatory environment. Experience within Private Sector Housing, Selective Licensing and Housing Act 2004 enforcement would be particularly beneficial.
