About the role

Job Description

Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.

Take a new home range from a blank page to people's living rooms, and own every design call on the way. You'd lead industrial design on everything outside the core product, including a connected range already in hundreds of thousands of homes, and help shape how the team designs, not just what it makes. You'll be joining a long-established sports and gaming brand with over 400 people across the UK, Asia and the US, and its own factories in China. Connected products have taken it well beyond its core range, and the pipeline now includes a modular home setup system with no direct competitor. Owning the manufacturing means ideas get to the shelf fast.

The role

You'll own industrial design across the connected range, the new home setup system, accessories, lighting and cabinets. It starts with finding the problems worth solving, through user and market research and time with players, then running ideation and concept development through to a design proposal. Form, ergonomics, user experience, surface modelling, CMF and the visuals that sell the idea internally all sit with you. You'll work alongside product managers, R&D and a mechanical design engineer, who takes your design intent into detailed engineering with the China team. There's a junior designer in the UK and a design team in China to support, and room to build the design culture. If you still want to be hands-on and prove yourself, this is yours to shape.

What you'll need

Pure industrial design skills across form, ergonomics, user experience, CMF and visuals, shown in a portfolio with real attention to detail in its layout and storytelling. Proven experience designing consumer products that went on to be manufactured and sold.

Consultancy work counts, as long as your concepts made it to market. A track record of upstream ideation: shaping a brief, generating and killing concepts, and explaining why a product is the shape and size it is. Strong sketching, surface modelling and rendering skills, for example in Rhino, KeyShot and Adobe CC, and the confidence to present ideas to senior stakeholders.

The details Reporting to the Product Design Lead Small UK team in a well-established company, with a design team in China Occasional trips to suppliers and factories in China Easy reach from north and east London, Herts, west Essex and Cambridge Right to work in the UK required, no sponsorship available Company bonus scheme 25 days holiday Private Medical Insurance What it isn't This isn't hybrid. It's five days on site, so check the real door-to-door journey before anything else. It isn't detailed engineering either.

Engineers own DFM, you own the design intent. It isn't designing the core product for professional players, which sits with another designer. And it isn't a big design department. xwzovoh The team is small, there's no formal ladder yet, and you work to a commercial brief with checkpoint reviews, so you're expected to drive it. If this sounds like your next move, click Apply and we'll be in touch.
