No.: CJD0301L26Location: Greater LondonSalary: 52,000 – 62,000This is an outstanding opportunity to join my client, a fresh, exciting Multidisciplinary Consultancy, currently in the process of building an industry-leading team of design professionals from the ground up, in the Water and wider Civil Engineering sectors. They are currently on the lookout for a skilled, keen Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of drainage and non-infrastructure design, who is willing to manage and successfully deliver an array of challenging projects. You will have a hand in establishing and leading a driven team of design engineers, based in the lively, culturally-diverse region of Greater London.Benefits for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include (but are not limited to):– Highly-competitive salary– Employee Pension Scheme– Generous annual leave package– Opportunities for flexible/hybrid working– Life Insurance Scheme– Dedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including career progression opportunities– Opportunities to deliver upon a wide range of engineering projects– Actively contributing to the future direction of the companyResponsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:Overseeing and delivering an array of projects and developmentsLeading a fresh-faced team of Civil Engineering design professionals, mentoring their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)Overseeing design projects, including budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and successful delivery/implementationManaging infrastructure and non-infrastructure design projectsEstablishing and maintaining important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectorsPreparing, checking, and submitting reports, drawings, calculations, and other technical documentsEnforcing company policies and procedures, ensuring colleagues adhere to best practiceUpholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all timesContributing to the company’s Business Development (BD) strategies, acting as a trusted representativeRequired skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or a cognate discipline)Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK consultancy settingDemonstrable experience of working with water-based, non-infrastructure projects (such as reservoirs, pumping stations, treatment plants, etc.)Experience of producing detailed drainage and civil engineering designProficiencies with software systems including Revit, AutoCAD, and moreConsiderable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports for submissionPrior experience of managing relevant projects and peopleExperience of managing client and stakeholder relationsOutstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsHold a full, valid UK driving licenceDesirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:A UK Master’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a cognate disciplineExperience of preparing Flood Risk Assessments and producing Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS)Experience of working in a public-facing roleIf you are interested in the role of Principal Civil Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
