About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer with both Mechanical & Electrical experience to repair, service, and maintain production equipment and site infrastructure using appropriate tools and materials. This role is critical to ensuring minimal disruption to operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and supporting continuous production within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in responding to breakdowns, maintaining equipment performance, and supporting operational changes such as equipment reconfiguration, while ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety standards. Key Responsibilities Carry out production breakdown maintenance, repairing or replacing equipment in line with the breakdown request system. Carry out PPM on machinery and equipment. Accurately record downtime and associated data for all maintenance activities (Excell & Word) Keep stakeholders informed of progress, timelines, and expected outcomes Minimise disruption to production and maintain strong working relationships across departments Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with Health & Safety regulations Service and maintain production machinery and site infrastructure Reconfigure and reposition manufacturing equipment and services to support changes in production flow Prioritise tasks effectively and work to agreed schedules Manage workload within a production environment in a calm, methodical manner Organise and coordinate contractors and suppliers as required Manage inventory within the workshop Understand and apply internal and external quality standards Identify and resolve equipment and process issues efficiently Use Continuous Improvement methodologies to enhance effectiveness Follow all work instructions, safe working procedures and company policies Handle and store materials safely to prevent harm or damage Maintain a safe, compliant working environment at all times What We Are Looking For Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, or equivalent Level 2 NVQ/BTEC Experience working within a manufacturing environment Knowledge of job-specific Health & Safety legislation Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to issues Effective communicator with the ability to provide regular updates Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and sites Organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively Methodical and calm under pressure Experience in breakdown maintenance and equipment repair Understanding of production processes and quality standards Ability to manage resources and prioritise workload efficiently Why Join Us Be part of a dynamic and collaborative manufacturing environment Play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement Opportunity to work across multiple departments and gain broad exposure Supportive team culture with a focus on safety, quality, and performance Opportunities for development and progression within the engineering function We understand there's no one size fits all approach.
