An inclusive and well-established Pupil Referral Provision in Brent is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join its committed team.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is resilient, patient and passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of young people who require additional behavioural, emotional and social support.
The successful candidate will work closely with students who have experienced barriers to learning, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom. You will play an important role in promoting positive behaviour, building trusting relationships and helping students re-engage with education.
The Role
Supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and create a positive learning environment.
Providing one-to-one and small group interventions to promote academic progress and personal development.
Using de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches to manage challenging behaviour.
Encouraging positive attitudes, resilience and confidence in learning.
Contributing to behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans.
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with children or young people in a school, alternative provision, youth work, sports coaching or mentoring setting.
Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent and professional manner.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A resilient, empathetic and proactive approach.
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people to succeed.
Experience within a Pupil Referral Unit, Alternative Provision or SEN setting is desirable but not essential.
