A prestigious European private equity firm is seeking a high-calibre Investment Associate to join its London office. With a proven track record of executing transformational investments across multiple sectors and geographies, the firm specialises in majority-stake mid-market investments across Europe.
About the Role
As an Investment Associate, you will be an integral part of a high-performing team, actively involved across the full investment lifecycle - from origination to execution and post-deal value creation.
Responsibilities
- Deal Sourcing & Evaluation: Assist in the identification and initial screening of new investment opportunities, develop investment theses, and conduct detailed market, industry and competitor analysis.
- Financial Modelling & Valuation: Build and maintain sophisticated financial models, perform valuation analyses (LBO, DCF, trading comparables and precedent transactions), and conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Due Diligence & Deal Execution: Lead key workstreams throughout the due diligence process, coordinate external advisors, prepare investment committee materials, and support negotiations through to successful completion.
- Portfolio Company Support: Work closely with management teams to monitor performance, support strategic initiatives, and drive value creation across the portfolio.
- Stakeholder & Internal Communications: Prepare board papers, investment updates and presentations for senior stakeholders, while liaising with advisors, consultants, lenders and co-investors.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year's private equity experience gained within a lower mid-market or mid-market private equity fund, with demonstrable involvement in successful transactions.
- Previous Investment Banking or M&A advisory experience prior to moving into private equity.
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills, including LBO modelling.
- Strong understanding of the full investment lifecycle, from origination and execution through to portfolio management and value creation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial and high-performance environment.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English is essential, with fluency in one or more additional European languages highly desirable, particularly French, German, Dutch or Polish.
