We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join a childrens residential service in Stoke-on-Trent supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) .
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate residential childcare professional looking to progress within a supportive and growing organisation that is committed to delivering high-quality care and positive outcomes for young people.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, mentoring staff, and ensuring high standards of care are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Lead shifts and support the day-to-day operations of the home
Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people
Promote positive outcomes, independence, and emotional wellbeing
Support young people with education, appointments, routines, and activities
Assist with care plans, risk assessments, and incident reporting
Administer medication in line with company policies and procedures
Support, guide, and mentor Residential Support Workers
Ensure safeguarding practices and Ofsted standards are maintained at all times
Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
Requirements
Previous experience within childrens residential care
Experience supporting young people with EBD and challenging behaviours
Level 3 Diploma in Childrens Residential Childcare (or working towards)
Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
Excellent xwzovoh communication and leadership skills
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
Full UK Driving Licence preferred
