Head of Department - Private Client Solicitor - Somerset

A prestigious Legal 500 firm in Somerset is seeking a highly experienced Private Client Solicitor to take on the role of Head of Department. This is a senior leadership position within a respected practice, offering excellent progression, hybrid working, and a highly competitive salary package.

The Role

As Head of Department, you will:

• Lead and manage the private client team, ensuring delivery of high-quality client service
• Oversee a broad caseload, including wills, trusts, probate, tax planning, and Court of Protection matters
• Develop and implement departmental strategy in line with firm objectives
• Supervise and mentor junior solicitors and fee earners
• Play a key role in client relationship management and business development

About You

• Senior Private Client Solicitor with significant experience (STEP qualification highly desirable)
• Proven track record in managing a successful team or department
• Strong technical expertise across the full range of private client matters
• Excellent leadership, client care, and business development skills
• Ambitious and proactive with the ability to drive growth within the department
