You will manage a distributed global team, establish advanced internal controls, and ensure cross-border compliance to support Deel's international expansion and cash flow optimization.Responsibilities:Formulate long-term vision for global AP, scaling operations to handle increasing transaction volumes.Spearhead AI-powered invoice processing and automation to reduce manual entry and accelerate cycle times.Lead and scale a global, high-performing AP team, fostering an automation-first culture and professional growth.Optimize department KPIs and SLAs, using data dashboards to report operational health to finance leadership.Manage end-to-end global disbursements across multi-entity and multi-currency networks, ensuring optimal routing and treasury coordination.Partner with Engineering, IT, and Procurement to manage and upgrade ERP systems and AP ecosystems.Design and audit SOX-compliant internal controls, deploying automated fraud-detection solutions to safeguard assets.Collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Treasury to resolve payment discrepancies and manage strategic vendor relationships.Direct AP month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring precise reconciliations, accurate accruals, and audit compliance.Ensure compliance with evolving international tax frameworks, local laws, and global reporting requirements.Qualifications:6+ years of financial operations/AP experience, including 4+ years in a senior leadership role at a global enterprise.Proven track record leading digital transformation, including implementation of AI and automation processes, machine-learning matching, or advanced AP suites (e.g., Coupa, Tipalti, AvidXchange).Expertise in multi-entity consolidations, cross-border payments, multi-currency reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.Proficiency with cloud-based ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, SAP) and financial database architectures.Experience in the procurement process and the bridge to budget. Understanding the PO process and the alignment to the procure to pay process Experience leading, mentoring, and coaching geographically distributed teams with a focus on collaboration and performance.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to convert operational metrics into actionable financial strategies.Deep knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP), SOX internal control design, and international tax compliance.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of driving organizational change and explaining complex concepts to stakeholders.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related technical field.
