Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Fabrication Manager to join an established engineering business based in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manager with a strong background in fabrication and welding, who can lead a workshop team, oversee production activities and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

The successful candidate will have proven experience managing fabrication operations, coordinating workloads and driving productivity while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities of the Fabrication Manager

Manage the day-to-day operations of the fabrication workshop.

*

Lead, motivate and develop a team of fabricators and welders.

*

Plan and coordinate workloads to ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.

*

Oversee fabrication and welding activities, ensuring work is completed to specification.

*

Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

*

Monitor quality control and ensure all work meets required standards.

*

Manage resources, materials and workshop capacity effectively.

*

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.

*

Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and productivity.

*

Liaise with other departments, management and customers to ensure smooth project delivery.

*

Monitor staff performance and provide support, guidance and training where required.

Requirements

*

Previous experience in a Fabrication Manager, Workshop Manager or similar supervisory role.

*

Strong background in fabrication and welding.

*

Good understanding of engineering drawings and fabrication processes.

*

Proven ability to manage and motivate a workshop team.

*

Strong organisational and planning skills.

*

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

*

Good understanding of quality control and health and safety requirements.

*

Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
