About the role
Story Electrical is hiring an experienced EV Charge Point Installer to join our growing EV team, following a run of new contract wins.
IMPORTANT - please read before applying
This role requires both a recognised EV charging equipment qualification (City & Guilds 2921-1, EVCS or direct equivalent) and C&G 2391 inspection and testing. You will be installing, testing and certifying your own work, so both are hard requirements. We cannot progress applications that do not hold both.
About the role
This is hands-on installation work - install, test, certify, commission, hand over - across domestic units, commercial car parks, workplace and fleet depots. Surveys and job planning are done before the work reaches you, so you arrive with the scope settled and the job booked. What you own is the installation itself and the certification that proves it was done properly.
Work is planned and scheduled in advance rather than reactive, and sits within normal working hours, with the occasional early start or late finish where a commercial site requires it. You will work a patch around Peterborough from home in a fully equipped company van.

- First and second fix: containment, armoured cable runs, core drilling, and groundworks where needed

- Altering and upgrading distribution boards and installing dedicated protective devices
- Inspecting, testing and certifying your own installations to BS 7671 and the IET Code of Practice

- Keeping van stock, tooling and test instrument calibration in order
