Data and Digital Transformation Director

Director of Technology | FinTech SaaS Remote (1 day onsite per quarter) Harrington Starr has partnered with an award-winning fintech company seeking a Director of Technology to lead and scale its technology function. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in shaping technology strategy, driving platform scalability, and building high-performing engineering teams while helping define the future direction of the business. Leading software engineering, data engineering, infrastructure, and DevOps functions • Defining and executing the technology strategy in line with business objectives • Supporting architecture decisions to ensure long-term scalability and performance • Building, mentoring, and developing high-performing technology teams • Managing technical risk, security, governance, and operational resilience • Identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation Proven experience leading technology teams within SaaS, fintech, payments, or other high-growth technology environments • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across engineering, infrastructure, data, and DevOps • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, engineering governance, deployment pipelines, and modern software delivery practices • Excellent leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills • Strong commercial awareness and experience aligning technology outcomes with business goals • A practical, delivery-focused mindset with a passion for building high-performing teams Microsoft technology stack including C# and .NET • Containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes • Modern front-end technologies including React and Angular • Data and analytics platforms including Snowflake and Looker • DevOps and collaboration tooling across the software development lifecycle A genuine opportunity to shape the technology vision of a growing fintech business • Executive-level influence and direct exposure to business strategy and decision-making • A flexible, remote-friendly working environment • The opportunity to work on innovative products solving complex challenges within the payments and financial technology sector If you're a technology leader who enjoys building teams, scaling platforms, and driving innovation within a fast-growing business, I'd be keen to speak with you.
