Morgan Hunt are delighted to support a public sector organisation as they look to welcome TWO Procurement Specialists on a full time and permanent basis.
These roles will sit in either the Estates or Corporate Services categories and report to the Category Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage category strategies that maximise value, drive efficiencies and leverage organisational buying power while supporting local suppliers and community opportunities.
- Manage and deliver end-to-end procurement exercises, from initial stakeholder engagement and procurement strategy through tendering, evaluation, award and ongoing contract support.
- Identify and deliver opportunities for strategic sourcing, cost reduction and process improvement, including the development of effective and compliant corporate agreements.
- Provide expert procurement advice and support across capital and infrastructure projects.
- Embed sustainable procurement principles across all activities, incorporating social value, community benefits, fair work, environmental considerations and circular economy approaches to support net zero objectives.
- Work collaboratively with legal, engineering and project teams to develop, negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring effective management of obligations, risks, early warnings and contractual performance.
- Promote effective procurement practices across the organisation by engaging and influencing stakeholders, encouraging early involvement and ensuring procurement strategies align with organisational objectives and policy.
- Use procurement systems, financial data and digital tools to analyse expenditure, identify opportunities, inform category strategies and support effective procurement decision-making and risk management.
- Maintain the highest standards of professional integrity, governance and compliance, ensuring procurement activity meets legislative and policy requirements while proactively managing ethical, commercial and supply chain risks.
Expereince:
- Strong knowledge of public sector procurement and Procurement Regulations
- A CIPS qualification would be desirable but not essential
- Strong knowledge of MS Office systems
- Can demonstrate string category procurement experience.
