Become a part of the “strength within.”Hexcel is currently seeking a Shift Engineer for our Duxford, UK location.The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:Support maintenance activities across the site to improve plant performance and reliability. Carry out fault finding, repairs and implement root cause corrective actions. Develop, execute and maintain planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules. Support projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance safety and production efficiency. Respond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime and restore production. Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment manuals. Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC and drive-related issues. Liaise with suppliers, OEMs and contractors to support equipment improvements and maintenance activities. Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide daily reports to management and stakeholders. Train production personnel in basic maintenance activities and machine set-up procedures.Qualifications:Level 3 NVQ Diploma or HNC in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance) or equivalent. BS7671 18th Edition qualification. Level 3 NVQ Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering Maintenance. Completed recognised engineering apprenticeship. Minimum five years' experience as an electrically biased maintenance engineer within a manufacturing or process environment. Knowledge and experience of PLCs and variable speed drives (desirable). ATEX, DSEAR and COMPEX training or awareness (desirable). Familiarity with health and safety regulations; IOSH qualification desirable. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong troubleshooting, communication, organisational and time management skills, with a self-motivated and proactive approach.Candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
