Workshop Engineer

Industrial Recruitment Solutions (IRS) are currently recruiting for a Workshop Engineer for their client in the Rugby area. An exciting opportunity for a hands-on role supporting the assembly, inspection, repair and refurbishment of industrial equipment.

You will work across equipment including battery energy storage systems, tower lights and materials handling equipment, ensuring units are safe, tested and ready for customer delivery.

Hours

* 08:00–16:30.

Pay Rate

* £25.00–£35.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Duties

* Carry out pre-delivery inspections using technical checklists.

* Prepare and test equipment before customer delivery.

* Complete basic fault-finding, repairs and refurbishment on used or returned equipment.

* Support equipment assembly and preparation.

* Complete inspection paperwork and quality records accurately.

* Report defects and technical issues requiring further investigation.

* Check incoming goods for damage or incorrect items.

* Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Requirements

* A practical engineering or mechanical background within a workshop, industrial or plant equipment environment.

* Experience in assembly, pre-delivery inspection, repair or refurbishment.

* Ability to identify basic faults and carry out repairs within your capabilities.

* Strong attention to detail and a good understanding of workshop safety.

* A reliable, flexible approach and willingness to learn.

* Experience with generators, tower lights, battery systems or materials handling equipment would be advantageous.

* Electrical or mechanical qualifications and a forklift licence are desirable but not essential where relevant practical experience can be demonstrated.
