Academics are delighted to be working in partnership with a lovely infant school in Chelmsford who are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team from January 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a friendly, welcoming school community with a supportive team who are committed to providing children with a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment.

The school is looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can bring learning to life, inspire young minds and help children make a confident transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1.

You will be joining a team that values creativity, collaboration and ensuring every child is given the encouragement and support they need to reach their full potential.

About the role:

• Full-time teaching position, Monday to Friday.
• Teaching a Year 1 class.
• January 2027 start.
• Initially offered for two terms, with the possibility of becoming permanent thereafter.
• Planning and delivering creative, engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
• Supporting pupils as they develop their independence, confidence and early learning skills.
• Monitoring progress and adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Working closely with colleagues, support staff and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
• Have a good understanding of the transition from EYFS into KS1.
• Be confident delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Have a nurturing approach and a genuine passion for teaching young children.
• Be organised, enthusiastic and committed to helping every pupil succeed.
• Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
