Robert Half are partnering with one of the UK's most significant infrastructure and energy organisations, delivering a nationally critical construction programme that will shape the UK's long-term energy future.
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Reporting Manager to join the Project Controls leadership team. This is a senior role within a £2 billion programme, working closely with Project Controls, Planning, Cost, Risk, Change, Commercial, Delivery and senior leadership.
We are seeking candidates with strong experience working on major infrastructure, construction, engineering or capital investment programmes. Experience within programmes such as HS2, Hinkley Point C, major rail, energy or other nationally significant infrastructure projects would be highly relevant.
This is an opportunity to build and shape a reporting function from the ground up. The environment is developing, with processes, reporting cycles and ways of working requiring significant improvement and standardisation.
About the Role
• Lead and establish the reporting function across a £2 billion infrastructure programme.
• Own the end-to-end reporting process, from data collection and validation through to analysis and senior management reporting.
• Establish reporting processes, month-end calendars, reporting cycles and governance.
• Produce and oversee executive-level reports, dashboards and performance packs.
• Work with Project Controls, Planning, Cost, Risk, Change, Commercial and Delivery teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Improve data quality and identify gaps across the reporting process.
• Lead the move from manual reporting towards automated and digitally enabled reporting.
• Work with data platform and data lake teams whilst maintaining a strong understanding of Project Controls and construction.
• Translate complex project data into meaningful insight, including leading and lagging performance indicators.
• Lead and develop a reporting team, driving accuracy and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
• Significant experience within Project Controls, PMO, reporting or programme controls across complex major projects.
• Ideally 10+ years' experience within Project Controls, with at least 5 years at a senior level and experience leading teams.
• Proven experience leading or establishing a reporting function within a complex programme.
• Current or recent experience working on a major infrastructure or construction programme is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Planning, Cost, Risk and Change Management.
• Experience producing executive-level reports, dashboards and management information.
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end reporting process and data journey.
• Experience establishing reporting processes and cycles within developing or immature environments.
• Strong construction, infrastructure or major capital project experience. This is not a pure IT or Data role.
• Strong Excel and Power BI skills, with experience in data visualisation and reporting automation.
• Strong data literacy and ability to challenge data quality and produce meaningful insight.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Resilient, pragmatic and comfortable working in challenging environments.

• Private medical cover
• 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days after 5 years
• Flexible benefits allowance of £1,500

• Opportunity to work on one of the UK's most important infrastructure projects
Why Join This Business
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the reporting function within a £2 billion programme at one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.
The reporting environment is still developing, creating genuine scope to establish processes, introduce structure and build the reporting capability from the ground up. You will have significant influence over how reporting operates, how data is managed and how programme performance is presented to senior leadership.
The organisation is moving from a highly manual reporting environment towards a more automated and digitally enabled future. You will play a key role in improving data quality, strengthening the reporting journey and establishing the foundations for automated management information.
For an experienced Project Controls or reporting professional who wants to build something, take ownership and make a tangible difference, this role offers exceptional exposure and the opportunity to shape reporting across one of Europe's largest infrastructure programmes. xwzovoh
