Job Title: Cosmetic Inspector – Automotive Industry
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Pay Rate: £18.11 per hour
Job Summary:
The Cosmetic Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all automotive components and finished vehicles meet established visual and cosmetic quality standards. This role focuses on identifying surface defects, inconsistencies, and imperfections that may affect the overall appearance and perceived quality of the product before it reaches the customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed visual inspections of automotive parts and finished vehicles, including body panels, paintwork, trims, and interiors.
- Identify and document cosmetic defects such as scratches, dents, paint inconsistencies, discoloration, and surface irregularities.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Use inspection tools, lighting equipment, and measurement devices to assess surface quality accurately.
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality control documentation.
- Communicate findings clearly to production, quality, and supervisory teams.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring cosmetic issues.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High attention to detail and strong visual acuity.
- Ability to identify minor defects and inconsistencies in surfaces and finishes.
- Basic understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with inspection tools and quality control procedures is preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a quality inspection or manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Experience within the automotive industry is an advantage.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to perform repetitive inspection tasks.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
