An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in COTE / Frailty (Geriatric Medicine) to join a progressive and supportive NHS team within a well-established district general hospital in the North West.

This post is ideal for a Consultant with a strong interest in Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA), acute frailty pathways, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) working , looking to make a meaningful impact on patient flow and quality of care.

ð¹ The Role

• Consultant-led COTE / Frailty service
• Delivery of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA)
• Management of complex older adults with frailty, multimorbidity, and acute presentations
• Close collaboration with Emergency Department, Acute Medicine, Therapies, and Community teams
• Participation in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota (details available on request)
• Active involvement in governance, audit, teaching, and service development

ð¹ The Service

• Established frailty pathways and structured MDT model
• Strong integration with acute and community services
• Focus on admission avoidance, early supported discharge, and patient-centred care
• Supportive leadership with opportunities to shape and expand frailty services

ð¹ Essential Criteria

• GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
• CCT in Geriatric Medicine / General Internal Medicine (or equivalent)
• Experience within Acute Frailty / COTE services
• Commitment to MDT working and quality improvement
