Contracts Manager Location: Bristol Sector: Commercial Refurbishment & Fit Out Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + package The Opportunity Walker & Sloan is recruiting a Contracts Manager for an established contractor delivering commercial refurbishment, fit out and alteration projects. Based in the Bristol area, you’ll oversee multiple projects and work closely with clients, site teams and subcontractors. This would suit you if you enjoy taking ownership of delivery and working within a business where you have a direct influence on how projects are run. Role Overview You’ll manage projects from pre-start planning through to completion and handover, ensuring site teams have the information, resources and support needed to deliver successfully. You’ll oversee programmes, monitor progress and address issues before they affect delivery. Working with the commercial team, you’ll review project costs, identify variations and keep a close eye on subcontractor performance. Building strong client relationships will be central to your role. You’ll lead progress meetings, communicate clearly on programme and quality, and manage expectations throughout each project. You’ll also oversee health and safety standards, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and support site managers in maintaining quality through to snagging and handover. About You You’ll have experience delivering refurbishment or fit out projects within a contracting environment, either as a Contracts Manager or an experienced Project Manager ready to oversee multiple schemes. You’ll understand the challenges of working within existing buildings, including coordinating alterations, managing access and sequencing work around client requirements. You’ll be commercially aware, confident managing subcontractors and able to build productive relationships with clients and site teams. A practical approach to problem-solving and the ability to balance competing project demands will be essential.
