The Role:
We are seeking a Technical & Projects Manager to provide technical surveying expertise, quality assurance, and clerk of works oversight across repairs, voids, refurbishment works, building safety projects, and minor capital schemes.
This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Working closely with contractors, consultants, housing teams and residents, you will provide technical leadership, oversee project delivery, monitor quality, and support the resolution of complex property issues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake technical inspections, pre-inspections, post-inspections and quality assurance checks across repairs, voids and refurbishment projects.
* Provide clerk of works oversight, ensuring workmanship and materials meet specifications and contract requirements.
* Prepare scopes of work, specifications, schedules and technical reports.
* Monitor contractor performance, quality standards, health & safety compliance and value for money.
* Identify and resolve defects, workmanship issues and technical risks.
* Support the delivery of refurbishment schemes, complex repairs, damp and mould cases, disrepair claims and specialist property projects.
* Coordinate projects from inspection through to completion, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate records, inspection reports and project documentation.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in a technical surveying, clerk of works, repairs inspection or construction quality assurance role.
* Strong knowledge of residential construction, building defects, repairs and refurbishment works.
* Experience preparing specifications, schedules of works and technical reports.
* Experience monitoring contractor performance and challenging poor workmanship.
* Understanding of damp and mould, disrepair, building safety and complex repairs.
* Good knowledge of health & safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
* Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications Required:
* Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Property, Retrofit or a related discipline.
* Professional membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
* Evidence of continuing professional development within surveying, property or project delivery.
