Lead Solution Architect (Databricks) - Outside IR35
Location: Hybrid / Remote (UK)
Duration: 6 months (very likely to be extended)
We are hiring a Lead Solution Architect for a role with a distinct 80/20 focus:
80% Data Solution Architecture: Act as the lead architect shaping an Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). You'll design scalable data ingestion pipelines across Finance, ERP, CRM, and Supply Chain (WMS/TMS) systems, bringing best-practice patterns and coaching the technical data team without writing code.
20% Governance and ARB Facilitation: Schedule and chair the monthly Architecture Review Board (ARB). Act as a senior sounding board and sense-checker for a team of 4 architects (no line management).
What you need:
Azure Data Stack: Strong architecture experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure SQL.
Integration: Familiarity with Azure Functions and Logic Apps.
Governance: Hands-on experience facilitating or presenting at Architecture Review Boards (ARB).
Leadership Style: A collaborative mentor who can guide a Tech Lead and developers while staying at architectural altitude (avoiding deep code-level weeds).
Desirable: TOGAF awareness, Master Data Management (MDM), or exposure to ERP/TMS/WMS datasets.
