Shipping & Supply Chain Supervisor

We are actively looking to engage shipping, freight and road transport professionals with as passion for freight forwarding for a new role as a Shipping & Supply Chain Supervisor in Nottingham on a hybrid basis! Client Details My client is a SME shipping and distribution business, with huge ambitions for growth, in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for a large commodity trading business in Nottinghamshire. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive. Job Description As a Shipping & Supply Chain Supervisor you will report in to the Operations Director on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Nottingham office: * Managing a small team of 5 specialist shipping, freight and supply chain specialist across road, air & sea freight * Conduct HR procedures such as RTW's, absence reviews, performance management * Plan, schedule, and oversee export and import shipments with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport providers. Ensuring cargo is booked, loaded, and shipped according to customer and business requirements across a variety of different INCOTerms * Overseeing the team responsible for preparing road, air and sea freight pricing & customer quotations - informing about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods. * Organising transport through third party transit means - such as air freight, sea freight and dedicated road freight transport. * Monitor KPIs, investigate shipping discrepancies or delays, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service levels. * Completing various types of shipping documentation such as bill of laden, airway bills, export licensing, commercial invoices, gaining certificates of origin etc. * Handling customs entries and arranging billings for VAT/Duties * Ensure compliance with customs regulations, and international shipping requirements, resolving any customs-related issues that arise through utilising a network of customs brokers. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have an expansive background in either road, air or sea freight forwarding industry. The ideal hipping & Supply Chain Supervisor will have the following skills and experience: * 3+ year's experience in shipping or freight forwarding in any mode of freight (ideally focused on road freight) * Experience leading or managing teams within a shipping, freight forwarding or supply chain environment. * Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across sea freight, air freight or road freight. * Desirable experience of customs compliance * Excellent customer service experience * Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous * Commutable to Nottingham on a hybrid basis What's On Offer? * £38,000-£46,000 * 32 days annual leave * 10% - 15% company bonus / profit share * Comprehensive company benefits account. * World-class training & development and large opportunities to progress
