Foreman / Excavator Driver

The Project, We are recruiting on behalf of a highways contractor for the Bournebridge Hill, Halstead Section 278 Highway Works scheme in Essex. A full-time supervisor is in place on site to handle paperwork we need a competent team to build the job. This is a long-term opportunity running through to December 2026. This job starts on the 03.08.26 Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 07:30 16:30 Occasional Saturdays | 07:30 12:00 full day pay The Role You will lead a three-man gang on a live highways scheme, operating an excavator up to 8 tonnes and managing the day-to-day activities of your team on site. Scope of works includes: Excavation using up to an 8-tonne excavator and breaker Carriageway construction including formation dig and Type 1 installation Road base installation (remaining asphalt by others) Installing kerbs, edgings and tactile paving Drainage installation including ditches and new surface water drainage runs Requirements: Proven foreman experience on highways or civils schemes NPORS or CPCS excavator ticket (essential) CSCS card (essential) NRSWA Streetworks Operative ticket (at least one per gang essential) Full 6-point PPE including fireproof overalls Available to start 27th July 2026 no exceptions Able to commit to the full duration through to December 2026 What's on Offer: Competitive day rate dependent on experience Full day pay on Saturday working Long-term project until December 2026 Contact Luca directly on 07471 216965 for any questions.c272c101-f45c-4783-b4a0-50ad222b87c0
