About the role
We're looking for an Claims Underwriter, Casualty LinesBased in our London office, reporting to the Head of Casualty Claims, you will provide claims adjusting and other claims related support functions predominantly to the Cyber Medical Malpractice teams and may also assist with Financial Lines, Professional Indemnity and any other lines dealt with by the Casualty claims claim as agreed and required.Hamilton Global Specialty is our multi-platform, specialty insurer operating primarily through Lloyd’s Syndicate and a Dublin operating company with a managing general agency in the US.What you will doAssist with the handling of claims within the Casualty Claims division throughAnalysis of coverage and quantum for individual claims within your agreed authority and through referral to the Head of Casualty claims where quantum is likely to exceed your individual authorityReview of bordereau presentations for agreement and processingLiaise with internal stakeholders such as other members of the Claims team, Underwriters, Reinsurers, Actuaries and ManagementDevelop relationships with external stakeholders such as brokers, loss adjusters, lawyers & TPAs.Ensure timely reserving & reportingEnsure compliance with internal guidelines, processes and proceduresAttend external client and broker meetings as requiredAttend networking events as appropriateAssist with operational tasks as requiredWhat you require for the roleProven experience working within or knowledge of the London insurance market in underwriting/Claims/BrokingAn understanding of insurance policies, preferably with cyber claims handling and third party liability claims handling experienceAn understanding of the Lloyd’s Claims schemesFamiliarity with ECF preferred but not essentialProficiency in Microsoft office suite, particularly ExcelStrong analytical skillsAbility to prioritise and manage deadlinesOpen, innovative and inclusive mindsetCollaborative spirit and enthusiasmStrong work ethicWhat you can expect from usAt Hamilton, we offer a vibrant, entrepreneurial and collaborative workplace shaped by our values: Be Smart, Be Sensible, Be Open and Be More.Our employees consistently say they would recommend Hamilton as a great place to work — a testament to the inclusive, supportive, and empowering culture we’ve built together.
