We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with experience in Microsoft Power Apps to join our multi-skilled agile team within IT Delivery. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building and maintaining a cutting-edge document management system that meets the needs of our organisation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the optimisation of our document handling processes.

Responsibilities

  • Development and publication of our core document management system.
  • Development and publication of our core integrations.
  • Contributing to the development and refinement of user requirements.
  • Designing innovative solutions to solve problems and meet requirements.
  • Implementing solutions using a variety of programming languages, frameworks, tools, and techniques, including Power Apps.
  • Developing appropriate tests to support code.
  • Producing applicable technical documentation.
  • Actively contributing to Scrum ceremonies such as Refinement, Sprint Planning, and Retrospective.
  • Implementing and delivering relevant coding technologies to defined standards.
  • Understanding emerging technologies and their suitability to business demands.
  • Supporting the deployment of changes into the production environment.
  • Ensuring the software delivered is performant, secure, and scalable.

Experience Required

  • Ability to creatively think around a brief and challenge it if necessary.
  • Knowledge of all relevant coding languages, with a focus on Power Apps.
  • Communication skills with the confidence to communicate ideas effectively to peers, seniors, and management.
  • Ability to produce quality documentation as necessary.
  • A focus on continuous improvement and a desire to push your ideas forward.
  • Able to plan and coordinate technical requirements and tasks across the team.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and a desire for continual learning and improvement.

Essential Experience

  • Commercial experience developing with Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Experience with Power FX.
  • An understanding of REST and SOAP.
  • Knowledge of database concepts and SQL.
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git or SVN.
  • An appreciation of CI/CD concepts and using tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
  • Experience of implementing and consuming SOAP or RESTful web services.
  • Experience of unit and acceptance testing.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with Cloud technologies such as Azure and GCP.
  • Experience with containerisation products such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • An understanding of networking (load balancing, security, firewalls, reverse proxies, etc).
