Job Description

An opportunity exists for an Works Controller (Lighting) who will manage and develop a team of Electrical Supervisors, Electricians and civil operatives, and will liaise with the Roads Lighting Technical teams.

The Works Controller will be responsible for:

Statutory road works noticing; the management of financial management both internal and external expenditure, vehicle and plant management, absence management and disciplinary procedures.

Other duties include ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation; the risk based approach of the Code of Practice and method statements, and training policy. Manage Highway Infrastructure/apparatus, Roads Safety Inspection and Repair Policy, SRWR noticing and the technical requirements the Transport Bill.

It is essential that applicant has a HNC / HND, C&G Qualified, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related subject, managerial and technical experience in roads and traffic front line service delivery, experience in managing both technical and civil staff, working knowledge of CDM regulations and a current driving licence.
