Although most children over 3 months with febrile UTIs can be treated safely with oral antibiotics, there is limited evidence on the optimal treatment duration. There is therefore the need for research to determine whether shorter antibiotic courses can safely improve antimicrobial stewardship without increasing treatment failure or relapse. This trial was therefore conducted to determine the shortest safe and effective course of antibiotics (cefalexin) for children with febrile UTIs.Role SummaryWe are looking to appoint a researcher who will conduct an economic evaluation alongside the study.
