We are seeking compassionate, reliable and motivated Female Support Workers to join a dedicated rehabilitation team supporting a gentleman with an acquired brain injury living in his own home in the Heathfield area. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills in acquired brain injury rehabilitation, diabetes management and community-based support, whilst working alongside experienced Case Managers and other rehabilitation professionals. Unlike many care roles, you will be supporting one individual as part of a consistent team, enabling you to build a strong working relationship and see the positive impact of your support over time. About the Client Our client is a positive, determined gentleman with a great sense of humour who enjoys an active lifestyle and spending time with family. His interests include: Going to the gym Swimming Woodworking Watching films and going to the cinema Football and Formula 1 Playing cards and completing word searches Participating in family activities Following an acquired brain injury, our client requires support with daily living activities, rehabilitation programmes and accessing the community. He values consistency, encouragement and support from people who share his positive outlook and can engage with his sense of humour. Please note that cats and dogs are present in the family home. The Role Working as part of a specialist support team, you will provide person-centred support and rehabilitation assistance to help our client achieve his goals and maximise his independence. Responsibilities include: Supporting personal care and daily living activities Meal preparation and domestic tasks Supporting community access, appointments and social activities Assisting with rehabilitation programmes and therapy recommendations Supporting mobility, exercise and physical activity Medication administration and support Monitoring diabetes and administering insulin following training and competency assessment Encouraging independence, confidence and participation in meaningful activities Maintaining accurate records and communication with the wider team Working closely with therapists, Case Managers and family members to support agreed rehabilitation goals Full Training and Support Provided Successful applicants will receive full induction and ongoing specialist training, including: Acquired Brain Injury Safeguarding Medication Administration Diabetes Management Moving and Handling Health & Safety Rehabilitation Approaches Record Keeping and Documentation Regular supervision and support will be provided by experienced Brain Injury Case Managers. This role may be particularly suitable for: Experienced Support Workers Rehabilitation Assistants Healthcare Assistants Community Support Workers Individuals with neurological rehabilitation experience Candidates with experience supporting people with complex health needs People passionate about helping others achieve greater independence Essential Requirements Minimum one year's experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injury, neurological conditions or complex care needs Full UK Driving Licence Ability to travel reliably to the Heathfield area Good written and verbal communication skills Enhanced Adult DBS (or willingness to obtain one) Right to work in the UK A positive, reliable and professional approach Experience supporting individuals with diabetes, medication administration or rehabilitation programmes would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
