Trainee Chef

We’re currently recruiting for a Trainee Chef to join a busy, family-run country pub in Blidworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary career in a friendly, fast-paced environment. The Role * Assist with the preparation and cooking of food * Prepare ingredients to support the kitchen team during service * Cook and present dishes to the required standard * Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation guidelines * Maintain a clean, tidy and organised kitchen * Follow food hygiene, health & safety and allergen procedures * Assist with stock rotation and storage of ingredients * Help with deliveries and putting stock away when required * Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen * Develop cooking skills and learn new techniques whilst working alongside experienced chefs * Working within a busy country pub kitchen * Opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop your skills About You * Suitable amount of previous kitchen/catering experience * NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a relevant subject is desirable but not essential * A genuine interest in cooking and willingness to learn * Reliable, hardworking and able to work well as part of a team * Comfortable working in a busy environment * Flexible approach to working hours required * Own transport would be an advantage due to the location but not essential Job Details * National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage, depending on age and eligibility. * Location: Blidworth * Full-time position, around 40+ hours per week. * Evening and weekend availability is essential, shifts will operate on a rota basis If you’re looking to take the next step towards a career in the kitchen and want to join a welcoming, family-run pub, apply today!
