Behaviour Mentor – Canning Town Location: Canning Town, East London Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm Pay: £105–£115 per day PAYE Contract: Full-time, ongoing We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school team in Canning Town, working with children and young people who may require additional support with their behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning. The Role As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils develop positive behaviour strategies and manage their emotions effectively. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting children with behavioural, emotional and social needs. Taking children out of the classroom for planned interventions and targeted support sessions . Delivering activities focused on behaviour regulation, emotional regulation and social skills . Helping pupils identify triggers and develop positive coping strategies. Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils. Supporting children to re-engage with learning following periods of dysregulation. Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team. Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting pupils' confidence and independence. Recording progress and providing feedback to relevant staff. About You We are looking for someone who is: Experienced working with children or young people, ideally in a school or educational setting. Confident supporting children with challenging behaviour. Patient, calm and consistent. Able to build strong relationships with pupils. Understanding of behaviour regulation and emotional needs. Proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
