Position Summary:
We are actively seeking a Senior Azure Platform Engineer / Architect - Agentic ERP Platform
This is a remote, part-time contract opportunity supporting the delivery of next-generation Agentic ERP capabilities on Microsoft Azure. Work is provided on an as-needed basis, depending on customer demand and project requirements.
Reporting to the VP of Platform Engineering, you will design and build the Azure platform that enables AI agents to securely interact with enterprise ERP systems. This role combines deep Azure expertise with modern AI platform engineering, enterprise integration and cloud architecture.
Essential Responsibilities
Azure AI & Platform Engineering :
Design and implement production AI agents using Azure AI Foundry.
Build retrieval, vector search and knowledge architectures using Azure AI Search, PostgreSQL (pgvector) and Cosmos DB.
Integrate Azure OpenAI Service into scalable, model-agnostic AI solutions.
Implement guardrails using Azure AI Content Safety.
Evaluate and adopt new Azure AI capabilities, including AI Foundry and Copilot technologies.
Cloud Architecture:
Design solutions using Azure Functions, Container Apps, AKS and Logic Apps.
Build event-driven architectures with Event Grid, Service Bus and Event Hubs.
Design secure networking using Virtual Networks, Private Link and ExpressRoute.
Develop API architectures using Azure API Management and Application Gateway.
Build secure, multi-subscription Azure environments for enterprise customers.
Infrastructure & Delivery:
Deliver Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, Terraform and ARM.
Design Entra ID, Managed Identity and Key Vault strategies.
Build CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Create reusable Bicep and Terraform modules.
Support customer deployments and technical architecture reviews.
Required Experience:
8+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience.
3+ years in a Senior Engineer or Architect role.
Production experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry or similar AI platforms.
Experience integrating Azure solutions with enterprise applications or ERP systems.
Strong experience designing secure, multi-subscription Azure environments.
Strong Python and/or C#/.NET development skills.
Required Technical Skills:
Microsoft Azure: Functions, AKS, Container Apps, App Service.
Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI Foundry.
Bicep, Terraform and ARM templates.
Kubernetes and container platforms.
Entra ID, Managed Identities and Key Vault.
Virtual Networks, Private Link and ExpressRoute.
REST APIs and Azure API Management.
Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics.
Git and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Preferred Experience:
LangChain, Pydantic AI or similar agent frameworks.
Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365, Power Platform or Copilot Studio.
Vector search and semantic retrieval solutions.
Java integration experience.
Microsoft Azure certifications.
SAP, Oracle EBS, JD Edwards or other enterprise ERP platforms.
Experience working within regulated enterprise environments.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong Azure architecture and platform engineering expertise.
Practical understanding of production AI and agentic architectures.
Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills.
Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and reference architectures.
Customer-focused with an understanding of enterprise security, governance and compliance.
Self-motivated and effective in a distributed, remote-first environment.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
Active Microsoft Azure certifications are highly desirable.
Contributions to open-source projects, technical communities or public speaking are advantageous. xwzovoh
