Your new roleResponsibilities: Managing legal aidbilling and cost recovery, ensuring compliance with LAA requirements andprocedural rules Prepare and submitbilling documentationProvide advice andsupport on costs matters, and responding to cost assessment requirements Drafting variouslegal aid claims, inter partes bill of costs, and schedule of costsPreparation ofpoints of reply, cost budgets, negotiating settlements of costsProvide support andadvice to fee earners and to the billing team where requiredProvide training andensure compliance with file management What you'll need to succeedMinimum of 3 years'experience working as a Costs Lawyer In-depthunderstanding of LAA cost assessment guidance and relevant legislation Experience of fixedfee schemes, application of enhancements and rates under the legal aid scheme Experience ofhandling own costs caseload from start to finish Computer literate,including knowledge of using costs drafting softwareCommitted teamplayer, self-motivated and professionalWhat you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV. # - Sofia Toca
