Location: Heath, Cardiff Hours: 5.00 pm - 1.00 am Pay: £13.45 per hour weekdays until 8.00 pm. £17.91 per hour 8.00 pm - 1.00 am Shifts: Any 5 days from 7, including weekends Contract: Temporary Duration: 3 months The Role Manpower is recruiting a Cook on behalf of our public sector client to work within a catering retail unit. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of food items, including regenerating pre prepared meals, cooking pizzas, chicken goujons and other menu items, whilst ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service. Main Responsibilities * Preparing and cooking fresh meals including dishes such as curries, lasagnes and other homemade style meals * Supporting the day to day running of the main restaurant and canteen kitchen * Ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard and served within agreed timescales * Following food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures at all times * Assisting with stock rotation and maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen * Working as part of a wider catering team * Ensuring excellent customer service is provided to staff and visitors Essential Requirements: * Previous experience working as a Cook within a commercial kitchen environment * Experience preparing fresh, homemade meals * Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate * Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards * Reliable, flexible and able to work evening and weekend shifts The role is subject to satisfactory references. We are looking for someone to start within a week.
