Pay: £200–£300 per day PAYE (Dependent on Experience)
Contract: Long-Term Opportunity
Land and Sea Resources are recruiting for an experienced Cost Controller to join a major energy project based at Barrow-in-Furness Gas Terminal. This long-term opportunity is ideal for a Cost Controller looking to develop their career within the energy sector while supporting a busy operational team.
As a Cost Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate cost reporting, forecasting, procurement support, and financial governance. The successful Cost Controller will work closely with project teams to ensure budgets are effectively managed and costs remain under control. This Cost Controller position offers the chance to work on a high-profile site with excellent long-term prospects.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver cost reporting and cost control across nominated spend categories.
* Support monthly accruals, OPEX forecasting, and month-end close activities.
* Extract and analyse SAP data, including Value of Work Done (VOWD).
* Assist with variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
* Review contract cost reports, identifying risks, waste, and cost-saving opportunities.
* Support the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process.
* Raise and manage Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.
* Process service entries and invoices within SAP.
* Review Change Orders and ensure correct approvals are in place.
* Monitor rental hire costs and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary spend.
* Participate in internal and supplier meetings to support effective cost management.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Cost Controller, Commercial Administrator, Finance Administrator, or in a similar commercial role.
* Previous experience using SAP.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational abilities.
* High attention to detail.
* HNC in Business Management or a related discipline (or working towards).
* Experience within the Oil & Gas or Energy sector is desirable.
* Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and Procure-to-Pay processes would be advantageous.
