Service Accountant

Job Title: Service Accountant Term: Permanent Location: Barking & Dagenham Salary: £42,771 - £44,685 Our client, a prominent organisation within the Financial Services sector, is seeking a talented Service Accountant to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive financial support across budgeting, reporting, and operational processes. Support annual budget setting and forecasting for revenue and capital budgets. Monitor actual expenditure against budget, ensuring evidence-based forecasts and reporting any variances to senior managers. Collaborate with budget and project managers, building strong relationships to align financial support with their objectives. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and contribute to the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit processes. Essential Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications (AAT Level 4 or part-qualified CCAB). Proven experience in budget monitoring, financial reporting, and year-end closure of accounts. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of identifying variances and proposing practical solutions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Previous local council experience Why Join Our Client?
