Regulatory Affairs Specialist

W Talent are exclusively representing a well-established manufacturing company who are looking to recruit a Regulatory Affairs Specialist on a permanent basis. This is a specialist opportunity for an experienced Regulatory Affairs professional with strong knowledge of CLP/GHS classification, Safety Data Sheets, Poison Centre Notifications and product labelling. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products remain compliant with applicable UK and European chemical regulations, providing regulatory guidance across the business and supporting the ongoing development of regulatory processes. Job Description The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be responsible for product classification, authoring and maintaining Safety Data Sheets, managing Poison Centre Notifications and UFI codes, and reviewing product artwork and labelling. Working closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, Commercial and Marketing teams, you will provide expert regulatory advice and ensure regulatory requirements are accurately reflected across product documentation, packaging and online information. This role would suit an experienced Regulatory Affairs professional who has hands-on experience within a chemical, detergents, household products, industrial chemicals or manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Classify finished products in accordance with EU CLP, GB CLP and GHS requirements Author, review, approve and maintain compliant Safety Data Sheets for formulated products Ensure SDSs remain accurate and up to date following formulation, classification and regulatory changes Use Lisam ExESS or equivalent SDS authoring software to produce and maintain SDS documentation Review supplier SDSs and assess their regulatory impact on finished products Coordinate SDS translations and ensure documentation meets local market requirements Determine and verify hazard classifications, signal words, H-statements and P-statements Ensure product classifications are accurately reflected across SDSs, labels, technical documentation and marketing materials Assess the regulatory impact of formulation changes, raw material substitutions and new product developments Maintain classification documentation and supporting justification records Review and approve product artwork, labels and packaging for regulatory compliance Ensure consistency between primary packaging, outer cases and online product information Provide regulatory guidance on pictograms, signal words, hazard and precautionary statements, font sizes, language requirements and recycling information Support artwork change management and version control Prepare, submit and maintain Poison Centre Notifications (PCNs) through ECHA Manage UFI creation and implementation across relevant product artwork Ensure PCN dossiers are updated following formulation or classification changes Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and relevant external regulatory contacts Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on existing and future product portfolios Support the implementation of regulatory changes across the business Contribute to SOP development and continuous improvement of regulatory processes Provide regulatory guidance to R&D, Quality, Operations, Commercial and Marketing teams Support the training and development of junior members of the regulatory team Key Requirements Demonstrable experience with CLP/GHS product classification Strong hands-on experience authoring and maintaining Safety Data Sheets Experience using Lisam ExESS or equivalent SDS authoring software Hands-on experience managing Poison Centre Notifications (PCNs) Experience creating and managing UFI codes Strong understanding of product labelling and artwork requirements Experience working with EU and/or UK chemical regulations Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate regulatory documentation Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders Ability to manage multiple regulatory requirements and priorities effectively Advantageous Requirements Previous experience within chemicals, detergents, household products or industrial chemicals Experience working within a manufacturing environment Experience supporting new product development and formulation changes Knowledge of detergent and environmental labelling requirements Experience with regulatory change management and implementation Experience developing or improving regulatory procedures and SOPs Details & Benefits Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Job Type: Permanent, full-time Location: Redditch Additional: Company benefits package, training and development opportunitiesThis is a highly specialist Regulatory Affairs position, so relevant hands-on experience across CLP classification, SDS authoring, PCN/UFI management and product labelling is essential.
