Location: Hemel Campus HP1 1HDSalary: Up to *GBP*33,500 per annum.Contractual Hours: 37.00Basis: Full time

West Herts College Group is seeking a Group Youth Engagement and Diversion Officer to play a vital role in shaping the student experience.

As Group Youth Engagement and Diversion Officer, you will work closely with our 1618-year-old students to ensure they feel safe, supported, and engaged throughout their time at college. Youll be a key figure in promoting positive behaviour, building trust, and helping studentsespecially those from disadvantaged backgroundsstay on track and believe in their potential.

You will be based at our Hemel Campus with occasional travel to other campuses.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Group Head of Youth Engagement and Diversion in upholding behaviour expectations.

Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage open dialogue.

Inspire and motivate young people to remain engaged in education and develop resilience.

Assist in managing and de-escalating student incidents.

Liaise with external agencies including the police and local authorities.

Provide advice, guidance, and support to students on a range of issues.

Monitor and support vulnerable students at risk of disengagement.

Contribute to safeguarding efforts in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
