We are looking for a Teaching Assistant for our New Options School - Riseley Green School in Riseley, Berkshire. The school has capacity for 60 pupils ages 4-16 years old and opened in May 2025. Our New Options School will cater for pupils who have ASC and Complex Needs. Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Riseley Green School, Riseley, Reading, Berkshire RG7 1QF Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 4:30pm Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only Through your knowledge and passion, you will have a real impact on the lives of pupils and young people. We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to help create supportive, enriching learning environments where pupils with autism (ASC) and complex needs can thrive and exceed expectations. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the classroom and beyond, helping pupils to unlock their full potential. Supporting pupils’ learning journeys through tailored classroom activities and one-to-one engagement. Promoting wellbeing, helping pupils develop confidence and independence. Assisting with outdoor learning experiences and off-site activities. Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support. You’ll be working closely with pupils who require additional care and attention, and your ability to build trust and provide stability will be key to their success. Adaptable – ready to support in various classroom settings and outdoor environments. Committed to safeguarding – ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pupils. Experience working with children or young people with autism and complex needs is desirable but not essential. Riseley Green School is an independent specialist school for autistic young people aged 4 to 16 years. Situated on the outskirts of Reading, Berkshire, the school provides a distinctive blend of education and support tailored to a diverse range of pupil needs and abilities. Riseley Green School opened in May 2025 and has a capacity for 60 pupils. The school caters to pupils with autism (ASC) and complex needs, offering a nurturing and structured environment where each child can thrive. For over 16 years, Options Autism has provided care and education to pupils, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
