Transport Manager

We're pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client - one of the fastest growing commercial wholesalers in Europe, in their search for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimise their busy logistics operation. This is a hands on role where you’ll take ownership of compliance, fleet performance, driver management and day‑to‑day transport efficiency. Key Responsibilities * Manage daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, scheduling and delivery performance * Lead, support and develop drivers and transport staff * Maintain full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachographs, Working Time Directive and vehicle safety * Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections and defect reporting * Monitor KPIs such as delivery performance, cost control and utilisation * Ensure accurate record‑keeping for audits and regulatory checks * Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and customers to resolve transport related issues * Drive continuous improvement across transport processes and standards Legal & Compliance Requirements * Valid Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential) * Strong knowledge of Operator Licence obligations * Understanding of DVSA regulations, vehicle roadworthiness and driver hours * Experience managing compliance systems such as tachograph analysis and maintenance schedules What You’ll Bring * Proven experience in a Transport Manager or similar logistics leadership role * Strong organisational and problem solving skills * Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment * Excellent communication and leadership qualities * A proactive, hands on approach with high attention to detail If you’re ready to take ownership of a growing transport operation and play a key role in our clients continued expansion, we’d love to hear from you.
