Our goal is to be involved in every major restructuring in the market in some way. We support companies, investors and financial stakeholders in stressed and distressed situations by rapidly assessing financial and operational challenges and implementing practical turnaround and restructuring solutions. Working closely with management teams and stakeholders, we stabilise crisis situations, protect value and deliver optimal outcomes.Our hands-on approach includes developing and executing strategies across cash management, business planning, stakeholder management and negotiation and operational improvement. Senior members of our team frequently take board and interim management roles (e.g. Chief Restructuring / Transformation Officer) to lead complex restructurings and turnarounds, often across multiple jurisdictions and stakeholder groups. In addition, our team of experts have hand-on finance leadership experience and often act as CFOsWhat you’ll doWe are looking for Directors who have an exceptional track record of achieving results for their clients in financial and operational restructuring situations, including driving improvements in finance teams. We are looking for experienced, smart, pragmatic, and results-focused individuals, who can operate on a range of UK based as well as international engagements. We are keen to attract people who can contribute to AlixPartners’ reputation for driving positive change for the immediate and long-term success of our clients. Directors are the future leaders of AlixPartners and will contribute to business generation efforts while driving commercially successful engagements in a ‘hands-on’, professional and energetic manner. They collaborate with colleagues across the world as well as engage with and promote the firm’s broader capabilities. What you’ll need Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:Relevant and hands-on project management experience in financial and / or operational restructuring gained in restructuring advisory, Big 4 environment (or equivalent), private equity, banking or industry. University degree as well as a relevant post graduate qualification (e.g. Accounting).Demonstrable experience in some of the following Company side stressed and distressed situations is essential:Company side financial advisory rolesManaging senior groups of stakeholders (including ad-hoc lending groups, shareholder and boards) through distressed situationsLiquidity managementDistressed M&A processesOperational turnarounds/restructuringBusiness Plan development and modellingHands on support for financial teams including Treasury and FP&A supportSkills & CompetenciesStrong financial analysis with a solid understanding of financial statementsAbility to build integrated three statement models from scratchExperience in building and reviewing 13-week cash flows and managing liquidityExpertise in reviewing and building business plans and business plan modelsA track record of successfully managing senior stakeholders and other advisersExperience of supervising other professionals, acting as a positive role model and able to motivate othersStrong interpersonal skillsManaging and contributing to conversations with senior stakeholders such as board meetings and management committee meetingsAdvanced written communication skills, able to prepare well laid out, easily understood analysis and presentationsArticulate communication of information, with audience-appropriate adaptionDelivery of influential client communications with clarity and confidenceAdvanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsAbility to build relationships with clients and peersExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
