TUTOR As a Tutor working with TailorEDucation, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils to make progress in their learning, confidence and personal development. Our tuition assignments cover children and young people from KS1 through to KS5, with opportunities supporting a diverse range of educational needs. This may include Functional Skills Maths and English, academic catch-up, targeted intervention or personalised learning support. You may also work with pupils who have SEND needs, adapting your approach to meet their individual learning needs and circumstances. Depending on the role, you may be responsible for: Planning and delivering engaging, structured tuition sessions Supporting pupils to develop their Maths and English skills Delivering Functional Skills or targeted academic intervention Adapting learning to meet individual needs and abilities Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils Monitoring progress and providing feedback on learning Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning Working collaboratively with schools, families and other professionals where appropriate Tuition may be delivered face-to-face, either within a school or an appropriate education setting, depending on the individual placement or online. About the Setting Our tuition opportunities can vary considerably, from supporting pupils who require additional help to catch up with their peers, through to more individualised provision for pupils with SEND or those who are currently unable to access a mainstream classroom setting. Assignments cover KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5, and each placement is different. We will discuss the specific requirements, setting, pupil needs and expectations with you before you start. The Ideal Candidate Experience The ideal candidate will have: Relevant teaching, tutoring or education experience Experience supporting Maths and/or English A strong understanding of how to engage and motivate pupils The ability to adapt learning to individual needs Experience working with SEND pupils is desirable for some roles Strong communication and interpersonal skills A patient, supportive and nurturing approach A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve their potential Relevant qualifications will depend on the individual tuition role. QTS, QTLS, teaching qualifications, functional skills experience or relevant tutoring/education experience may be considered depending on the requirements of the placement.
